Since a lot of you have had your anatomy scan done, did your dr. make you drink a ton of water before hand? Mine told me that there were no special instructions for this scan.
I've also heard that you should eat or drink something to get baby moving, is that true or only if you were trying to find out the sex? TIA!

Re: Anatomy Scan instructions
I just had my scan yesterday.
My doctor had me drink 16 oz. of water an hour before my scan because they can get better pictures when your bladder is full. I also had about 16 oz of orange juice an hour and a half before I went to get some sugar in me. Just the combination of water and juice made my LO move around perfectly for the tech to get measurements. He wasn't super slow and he wasn't super excited either. My tech said I did just the right thing.
It's completely up to what you want to do, though. I just did exactly what the doctor told me to and added in some sugar. Not too much though.
Good luck!
My Dr. told me the same thing and I was pretty surprised. I would have thought they would have said to do something. Of course I will be going to lunch 2 hours prior and will be sure to have water, not to much I can't stand doing the 30 minutes scan but enough to help out.
I wasn't given any special instructiong before my scan and it all went well.
I've had friends that would drink a small glass of soda or eat chocolate before ultrasounds so they would get more views of the baby, but I don't know if there is any real truth to it or if it really matters. I didn't do anything "special" and we saw LO just fine.
I forgot....I've also had to PIAC before every appt and for all 3 of my ultrasounds so far it hasn't made a difference that my bladder was empty.
