I have been reading a lot about the minimalist shoe/barefoot running craze and it seems that there is a lot of merit to what is being said (Mainly about where your foot should naturally strike the ground, bulky shoes causing desensitizing which leads to a harder foot strike and more injury). I was wondering if anybody subscribed to this idea, and if so, what kind of shoes, if any, are you using?
I bought the Vivo Barefoot EVO today, so that will be my starting point with this new way of running.
TIA!
Re: Running Shoes
There are a couple of folks in my running group that wear Vibram Five Fingers but I've never personally tried them. They swear by them but I'm still good with my Brooks.
ETA: There have been some good articles in Runner's World about this new form of running---you can probably Google to find them.
Good Luck!
I think I'm going to return them. The guy convinced me that they fit right, but they are just too damn big. I tripped on the stairs at work again, hurt my arm, and spilled coffee all over my math tests.
I love the idea though, I'm just going to have to wait until they get my size in. Maybe I'll try the vibram fivefinger in the meantime.
