Bfers...Breast Friend or Boppy?

Watching a Bringing Home Baby and the Breast Friend looks so convenient! I used a Boppy with DS but he wasn't on the boob very long. Whats ur pick?

Re: Bfers...Breast Friend or Boppy?

  • I have no first hand knowledge but my cousin who had her son in Nov swears by the my breastfriend...and told me I should definitely get one.  She's pretty practical so I think its a good investment.  I'll find out soon!

  • Hands down, breast friend. I had the boppy first with DS but it was a challenge to get comfortable. I sent DH out during the first couple days home from the hospital to get the breast friend and fell in love.

  • I have both, because I plan to sit on the Boppy while I heal and use the Breast Friend to nurse. I figure it's good to have one of each in case I prefer one over the other anyway.

  • I bought a boppy a few months ago when I started ordering baby supplies, but I've heard recently from a friend who is a 2x mom and also from the woman who taught my newborn care class last night that the Breast Friend is WAY better, especially in the first month.  So I just ordered one and now I guess I'll have both!
  • I always had a boppy with both of my other children and they worked fine.

  • Neither for me. The boppy was so uncomfortable when BFing. Although I did use it to sit on for several days after I gave birth.

  • Funny, I HATED the Breast Friend.  It was too hard for me to take on and and off one handed.  The Boppy slides on easier for me.
  • I used a Boppy and thought it was great! I had two actually, so that there was always one handy. Never had any issues.
  • I haven't personally ever breastfed at this point, but I got a Breast Friend and I've already "tried it on" and checked out the feel of it....I like it so far. I have heard great things about both items honestly. I read the reviews for Breast Friend and it just had such great reviews that I ended up going with that, although I wouldn't have been upset to get a Boppy either.

  • I am a boppy fan. I used the same one with my first two and got rid of it and bought a new boppy. Old one had gotten a little flat from all the use! The brest friend does look nice though. I probably wouldn't mind having both to use.
  • I've got both.

  • I had the boppy for both my boys and plan on using it for this one too because I already have it.  I only use it for nursing for the first month or so, after that I use it more for little one than nursing.

  • With #1 I had a Boppy. #2 I was excited to have a BreastFriend, but it was so annoying to take on and off because of the shape and the velcro. It was also super noisy and woke up LO. I still had to entirely hold baby up to feed. This time I'll use the Boppy. It's less cumbersome and baby can use it too.
  • Well thanks for the info ladies!! I actually stopped by my local kids consignment place and got a like new Brest Friend for $20 in package and everything. I have a Boppy from DS so now I'll have both :) Thanks again for your reviews and suggestions!

  • the lactation consultant that taught my breast feeding class highly recommended the breast friend. Don't have any experience yet so we'll see.

  • I tried both over night, I prefer the boppy. It's just more flexible to me. I think there is a lot of personal preference though.

My ob recommended that I use a regular pillow rather than one with a hole because that can put pressure on the injured areas as they fall into the hole and make things worse. Just a thought.
