I am wondering what those of you who don't have a lot of room for storage space do as far as food...do you stock up when things are on sale and deal with it being "in the way" or tucked randomly everywhere or do you just buy as you need it.
Our new place has a bigger kitchen, but the way it is laid out (someday I should take a pic, it is funky) does not leave room to add a pantry or shelves or anything functional for food storage. I have managed to get rid of and re-arrange enough to steal a little cabinet space, but not enough for stocking up on things liked cans of tomatoes/paste, rice, etc etc etc. So when I get excited (like last week) at the great sales on stuff we use, I end up with it sitting on the table or cabinet. I have already stolen 2 shelves from our adjoined living room (and covered them with fabric), but there just isn't much room for big boxes and extra cans. I hate to pay more for items, but I hate the visual clutter/inconvience of having it lay around. And we end up trying to buy storage that will work which costs money too.
Just wondered what other people in storage short spaces do...forgo the sales or stash it around. ![]()
Oh, I should add we do not have closets or any space elsewhere in the house to make a pantry type area.
