Trouble TTC

PCOS and TTC

I'm new to the board. This is a vent and maybe possibly could get some answers. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April of 2008, in which my doc put my on bc. I visited the doc in April 2010, I have lost 40 lbs since being on the bc. (All besides the point, except being on bc).

Hubs and I decided we wanted TTC Christmas 2010. We starting trying Christmas day, same day I stopped taking my bc. Kept track of when we did the dirty deed. researched ovulation calenders and the whole nine yards.

I was supposed to start my period on Jan. 15 according to the 28-day bc pack I was going by.

No period, negative pg tests.

It's frustrating and pulling on my emotions as far as me asking myself if I'm ever going to have kids because of my PCOS. How long does it take to get my period back to the way it is supposed to be? Did or does anyone know where I am coming from? Need advice, answers and comments, ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE ME FEEL AT EASE.

:(

Re: PCOS and TTC

  • give it more than a month. i have pcos too but didnt know until i quit the pill after 9 years and my period didnt come back at all. i would give it atleast 3 or 4 months if not 6. since you already know you have pcos then you should find a reproductive endocrinologist who can help you figure out where your body is at and what to do. but really really dont freak out just yet after only a month.

  • I took BC for 10 years. I have been off for a little over a year and have only had 2 periods since. I went to my OB/GYN and he diagnosed me with PCOS and put me on Progesterone and Clomid.  I waited a year, cause everything I read said to.  But if you feel pressed for time, and you know you have PCOS, then make an appointment. There are medicines for women with PCOS that have good sucess rates.  But some take a few cycles. So, the sooner you start the meds....the sooner you'll get that BFP!
