I've read several posts lately about girls planning to be induced between 37 and 39 weeks for various reasons. I think I'm going to be the last pregnant girl on this board! There are currently no induction plans and I fully expect to go to 41 or 42 weeks if needed. Anyone else with me?

i will do anything i can to not be induced and go on my own when i can. (although there are some medical issues that may override this with the polyhydramnios)
i was the same with my son- they offered to induce at 39-40 weeks. I declined, walked 3-4 miles a day, and went on my own at 40w 4d and had a great experienc e

Me! I actually have a breech baby on my hands right now and they give me the option of scheduling a c-section anytime after 39 weeks. I however plan on waiting until I go into labor in hopes that the baby will flip on its own when it's ready. I mean, sure, I'm uncomfortable, but I can seriously wait another week or two to make sure the baby is good and ready for its appearance! I'm not psyched about the prospect of a c-section, but inductions scare me more. Probably because I watched "The Business of Being Born!"
Hopefully I won't but I'm in there for the long haul if that is what happens! I was induced at 41w1d with my daughter.

I cringe at the thought of being induced. More power to the girls who want/need to be, but I do not feel like I need to be induced.
I want to go into labor on my own and if that is now or at 41 weeks so be it.
I'm having an ultrasound next Wednesday (I'll be 38.5 weeks) because my doctor is concerned about the size of my baby, but honestly I don't really consider size a reason to be induced (I am worried about him being big but not fully mature) and do not plan to agree to an induction unless there is a medical reason (other than size). Though I am excited to see my LO again!
So, I plan to be around for a while.
This.
I need to have this conversation with my OB. My hunch is that I'll go into labor on my own right around my due date, but my brother and I were both a week late, so I wouldn't be surprised if my LO decides to hang out for a bit longer, too. I want my labor and birth to be as intervention free as possible, so I really don't want to be induced before 41.5 weeks unless it's medically necessary.
At this point, and I realize I still have 4 weeks til my due date (2/18), I'm not horribly uncomfortable, and I'm not hoping to go early. In fact my last childbirth class is 2/2 and I'm registered for a breastfeeding class 2/8 so I told her she better stay put until at least the 9th!
I'm planning to go late as well. Dr. and I have discussed and we will induce at 41 w 5 d if I have not gone into labor before then. We're inducing on a Thursday since it's her night on-call. That way there is a better chance of her being there to deliver baby instead of one of the other 5 doctors in the practice. No matter what we'll have a baby by Valentine's Day!
I definitely did not WANT to be induced. In fact, I'm still hoping maybe I'll go into labor before hand.... but the OB is adamant about it and she has her reasons.... sooooo, induction it is!
It was either that or straight to a c-section and I chose trying to deliver vaginally first.
No induction planned here, though I don't think my doctor typically wants people to go past 41 weeks. According to the nurse, my doctor keeps a close eye on fluid levels and the placenta to decide how late to let you go but would typically induce between 39 and 41 weeks. She did a quick ultrasound at 36 weeks to look at fluid, whether the baby was making practice breathing movements (I assume this is an indicator of lung maturity), etc., and it made me wonder if she does them every week from here on out.
Honestly, I love my doctor so much that I would almost want her to induce (if my cervix were favorable and I were near or past my due date) so that I could ensure having her deliver my baby. If I have a weekend baby, odds are I'll have a different doctor.
(Btw-- on a related topic-- I was reading about that study saying the average first time mom going into labor at 41w1d, and that was using LMP to calculate due date. I have the feeling that if due dates were calculated in a more accurate way, it would have come out with an average of at least a couple days earlier. It doesn't seem like that many women actually ovulate on day 14, with more ovulating later rather than earlier-- so their babies are actually a little younger than due date calculated by LMP would indicate.)
