Trouble TTC

A bit worried about follie sizes, is it too early to be so concerned?

Hi ladies,

So I had my 3rd ultrasound yesterday (which was day 6 of Follistim 150) and here is the total follie breakdown:  1@141/2, 1@12, 1@10, 2@91/2, 13@7 or below.  She had me take my first dose of Ganirelix right then and when she called back later she told me to lower my Follistim to 75 and add in Menopur 75 each night.  This is my first IVF so I'm not exactly sure what this all means for the big picture but aren't the follies supposed to be closer in size?  Does this mean I will probably only end up with 3-5 mature follies?  She seemed super concerned about keeping me from ovulating on my own so of course that worried me too.  I just don't know what to think about these numbers.  And I was so concerned with the sizes I totally forgot to ask about my lining.  I am going back tomorrow though so I will ask then.  What do you guys think?  Does it sound okay?  I might post this over on the Infertility board as well to see what they think.........this is all soooo stressful and overwhelming.  I feel like I am going to explode.

Thx

  • I wouldn't worry!  As long as you are taking the Ganirelix, that should slow the bigger ones growth rate and it will keep you from ovulating.  It's probably a good thing that they lowered the dose, you're probably just responding faster than they expected.

Try not to worry!  Trust your RE, they do this all the time :)

  • Thanks for responding Magnolia.  I'm such a worry wart all the time.  I really really want to be optimistic and be happy that we are finally able to do this but I keep thinking of everything that could go wrong.  I do like my new RE and they have been great and right on the money with everything else so far so I will take your advice and just let them do their thing!

  • I know, it's so hard not to worry about every little thing.  But if you do trust your RE, try not to be stressed out.  I know that's sooo much easier said than done!
