EBF'ers If you've used gentian violet...

Did your LO have any reactions to it? From what I've read, I "paint" my nipples with the solutions, and then have LO nurse. Is that what you guys did? TIA.

    I used it with DD1. The first thing you want to do is put vaseline on your LO's lips and the surrounding area. Then I'd put some of the GV on a q-tip and let her take a couple of sucks on it, as that's all it takes to coat their mouths. When you nurse, your LO will cover your nipples with GV. HTH.

    Just be prepared - it is very purple. I looked like something out of a national geographic mag. I also didn't use th e PP trick, so I couldn't take having a purple faced baby...
