For those of you that use a blanket at bedtime...

Do you tuck your LO in? And if not, how do you use it?

E moves a lot in her crib - first is was scootching down to the other end, now it's turning 90-180 degrees.

She's still swaddled, for now.

I roll up 2 blankets (I use the blankets that we got from the hospital) and place them on either side of LO, so he doesn't move around that much...and put a blanket on him. I used to tuck the blanket into the sides of the crib, but I'm over it now.

I tuck DS in and make sure his arms are above the blankets because he flails around a lot. I don't know what I'll do when he starts turning around.

I tuck it in tight. Someone (maybe AAP?) recommends to put your LO at the end of the crib with their feet pretty much toughing the end of the crib. Then tuck the blanket in to the crib tight and no higher than their chest with arms on top of the blanket. This way, your LO can't scoot down and get under the blanket. We've never had a problem with DS getting under the blanket, but a lot of times he kicks it off. He also has rotated 90, 180, and even 270 degrees, but he kicked his blanket off way before doing any of that.

Also, just a side note, I let him fall into a deep sleep and then go in and tuck the blanket in. If I don't he just kicks it off during his normal "going to sleep" routine and I have to adjust it anyway.

Either the comforter that came with DS's bedding set. Or this fleece blanket that DS's great grandmother got him.

Glad I'm not the only one with a spinning baby. We put DS in a sleepsack (unswaddled because he's started rolling onto/sleeping on his side and I want him to have his arms for support in case he rolls all the way over onto his tummy!) and he scootches all over the crib and always ends up facing the opposite direction than when we put him down. I'm afraid to put any blankets in there because I know he'll be a groundhog and burrow under them.

We use a blanket crocheted (sp?) by Grandma. That way if it does go over his head it has holes so he can breathe. Is that ridiculous? Probably

Same here, but most of the time he just kicks it off.

Same here, but most of the time he just kicks it off.

Here too. Except the morning after he got his 4 month shots. That night he didn't move a muscle all night. Otherwise, the blanket is always kicked off.

We use a blanket. I dont really tuck it in, just put it over her with her arms on top. If she gets to the point of spinning in the crib, she's already kicked the blanket off by that point. Right now I'm using one of the PBK stroller blankets, it seems to be the right weight for keeping her warm but not too hot at night.

I ambitiously bought fabric and a pattern for a sleep sack, but we are currently using a flannel blanket tucked in under his arm pits. He doesn't move much at night but does kick the blanket off.
