Cloth Diapering

Can I AW to mamas who can appreciate it? PIP

(I've been lurking here a lot lately, thought I'd finally jump in and start posting, so hi :) )

Anyway, I showed this diaper to DH this morning and he gave a lukewarm response, lol.  He's such a guy.  I was so excited though, I finally got this PUL in the mail yesterday night, went out to dinner and rushed home to make a OS pocket diaper for #3 who is (finally) growing out of all of his newborn stuff.

And DS of course made good use of the diaper within 5 minutes, LOL!

It's a Very Baby One-Size Pocket.  She has really good patterns and they really fit well from 10-35 lbs (I have one kid at each end of that range right now, so they are each my testers).

  • Questions for you-where do you buy the PUL to make diapers?  About how much per diaper is needed?
  • Do you have a professional snap press? That's what's holding me back from trying to DIY some OS pockets!

I buy from co-ops (Yahoo groups has lots of diaper fabric co-ops) that I belong to since I usually buy in bulk.  Kids in the Garden has a lot of cool PUL prints right now, and Nature's Fabric has some too (join their yahoo groups b/c they give you discount codes you can use).  You need approximately a 20" square piece of PUL + microfleece for one pocket diaper.

Yes.  For me, it was a fantastic investment that has definitely paid for itself (I got it maybe 2 years ago?).  Though there are snap pliers too that are less expensive and good if you're not making a ton of diapers.  Kam Snaps has them in stock as well as thousands of snaps (I love all the colors they have, they even have engraved and shaped snaps).
