Trouble TTC

Any one have a lot of follicles, but not PCOS? Your thoughts?

I am still trying to figure out what this means.  I have a tons of folicles on my ovaries -- the whole string of pearls thing.  But my cycles are regular.  My testosterine is a little high but still within normal.  RE says that since I only have one symptom of PCOS (follicles) that I don't really have PCOS.  Does anyone have a similar thing?  Just wondering what you thought about it.

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

  • Where We're you in tour cycle when you had the Ultrasound? Is The string of pearls visible on both ovaries?

  • I received a DX of PCOS from my OB based on my history of cysts and lack of ovulation.  Upon moving to my RE, I had all of the b/w done and all of my hormones levels were within the "normal" range.

However, my RE still treated me as if I were a classic PCOS case because he said that your hormone levels can be normal but your egg quality can suffer.  He put me on Met for 2 months before we did a medicated cycle with him.

FWIW, there has been someone on 3T whose RE labeled them as PCO, but not PCOS.  Maybe she will chime in.

    Good luck!

I have had three ultrasounds, they were all before day 10 of my cycle.  Why do you ask?

Thanks for the input.  I guess that is my question.  Are my eggs messed up even though I ovulate every month.  Maybe my follicles block something or who knows what.?

  • I too received my diagnosis of pcos due to lack of ovulation... With further bloodwork my testosterone was only slightly elevated... but when I had my insulin resistance bloodwork - it was clear I had pcos, and was started on metformin. Since the metformin - I have WAY more energy...
