How long do you usually wait to see your Dr?

I'm just curious what everyone else's Dr's office is like.

Mine is awful. I love, love my Dr though, so I guess I'm willing to put up with it. She delivered DD, and I really couldn't imagine changing. However, I am always at the Dr's for a good TWO HOURS.

Once I arrive I pee in a cup & have my weight & bp checked. Next, I go and wait to see the Dr. Then once I'm in the room I wait some more. This past time I literally sat in the room for an hour!

My Dr's office is very busy...but still. If my appointment is at 12:45 and I don't actually see my Dr until 2:00, that's ridiculous.

Wow that is crazy!

I usually wait about 3 minutes. My office is great. I guess it's because it is a branch office from the main office. So only one of the doctors of the team is in this office each day so the nurse never gets behind. The main office might be totally different, I haven't had to go there in years.

Im not one for waiting that long. I also speak my mind and what to know what the hell is going on. I will wait for 20-25 mins and then after that my butt is up and down the hall trying to find a nurse to as what the heck is going on! My RE clinic is great about being prompt and not making people wait very long.

when I go I only end up waiting like 20min. I'll get there and only wait like 5 min in the waiting room, then see the nurse and then in about 5-10min my doc is in. Yes, 2 hours seems like a really long time to wait.

The wait at mine usually isn't long at all. I wait about 5-10 min to see the nurse and then usually the dr comes in about 5 min after that. Although I usually make my appts for the first one possible in the morning or on a night they are open late so it just might not be busy at those times. My dr's office is over an hour away from work so that's the only way I can work it. Sorry you have to wait so long! that's crazy!

Mine takes a long time too and it drives me crazy every appointment! It is especially annoying because they only schedule appointments from 9 to 3:45 on weekdays so I'm definitely having to miss work for each appointment. I'd like to try to save my sick time for maternity leave and I hate to waste it waiting on the doctor!

The practice I go to is actually attached to the hopsital where you can choose to deliver. (They like you to, for obvious reasons). I remember when I had DD my Dr. was over checking on me post c/s and I remember her saying something like, "See, this is why ya'll have to wait so long sometimes...I'm busy running back and forth." (delivering babies, etc) I guess I can understand that..and I know emergencies occur, but still. You'd think there could be better planning/scheduling!

Mine is a busy practice but I usually get in with 15 minutes in the waiting room or so. The nurse brings me back and gets my vitals/tells me to change into the paper stuff if necessary, and grabs the doctor. The doctor is in there within a minute or two after the nurse leaves.

I usually have to rush to PIAC because by the time I finish they have already called me. They are right on time. It's nice!

I got really spoiled with my RE. I would wait like 30 seconds to see the nurses and doctors. My OB makes me wait at least 20 minutes in the waiting room and 20 minutes to see her after I've made my way to the examine room. It's kind of annoying, but I just figured that's the way it goes.

My last two appointments have I have waited about 30 min in the waiting room and 30 min in the exam room. I was really annoyed by this and spoke to a friend that is a nurse there and she told me the Dr I saw at those two appointments is know for making people wait. My dr office requires each patient to rotate between 4 different dr's since when I deliver I can have any of them. So my next appointment is with a different dr and I will see how it goes.

I schedule all my appointments for 9 am so I'm one of the first appointments. After my pregnancy with DD I found if I schedule for anytime after 11 they go behind due to lunch breaks. So now I aim for all early appointments. I also schedule all my appointments at once so I get first dibs on times.

Usually about 10 minutes in the waiting room then I go back and have my weight and bp checked, then wait another 5-10 for the Dr.

I am usually in there and out of there in about an hour.

There have been times I've had to wait 30 to 45 minutes, but then I usually see the doctor pretty quickly after that.

Mine is just like yours. I always call ahead and ask how far behind he's running and then ask "no really, how far behind is he" because they try and give me a standard "20 minutes" when it's really 2 hours because they don't want me to be late. Since I've been doing that it's been better because then I don't leave for the appointment until much closer to the time I know I'll actually be seen.

The last time we went to see the OB, we were there for over 3 hours. My OB was called in to do an emergency c-section, and she has a rule that if she's at the hospital (their practice is at the hosptial) and one of her patients needs her, she goes to deliver... DH was freaked out by it all, but that's part of going to the OB.

I love my OB -- I'd wait all day for her if I had to! Big Smile
