Is it weird? (Clomid 3-7 vs. Femara 5-9)

I took Clomid with the OB on CD3-7 and O'd on CD15 both times (same O day I've always had even on unmedicated ovulatory cycles). My new RE prescribed Femara on CD5-9 and I didn't think to ask why not CD3-7 (maybe more time to schedule my baseline u/s and b/w?). Is it weird that they changed the days that I'm taking my meds? Do you think this will make a diff with my cycle? Do you think I'll O later than usual?

    My RE has been taking clomid CD5-9.  I've heard it can be done both ways.  I end up ovulating around CD16/17.  I would imagine since you are taking femara later that you will O later also.

    They had me do the same thing.  I was on Femara for 2 cycles cd5-9 and O'd on cd13 both times.  Next cycle I will do Clomid cd3-7 and I'm curious to see when I O on that. Good luck to you this cycle!

    I have not done Clomid, but I did 3 rounds of Femara.  The first round I did CD5-9.  The second & third rounds I did CD3-7.  My RE's nurse told me to do CD3-7 because she said it might make me ovulate earlier.  Both of my CD3-7 cycles I got pregnant, but unfortunately m/c.  My O date didn't change much, they went CD18, CD16, CD17.

    SHG & SA normal. PCOS Research study started 5/10.
    Clomid/Femara cycle #1 - 6/10 = BFN
    Clomid/Femara cycle #2 - 7/10 = BFP #1 - Missed miscarriage 9/2/10
    11/12 - BFP #2 - 11/22 - m/c
    5/1/11 - BFP #3 - Pre-eclampsia, IUGR & bed rest from 32w. DD born via induction 1/4/12.

    If you have a nurse and have her direct phone number, call her and just ask.    I took Clomid days 3-7 both times and this time when I do Femara I will be doing it on the same CD's.   It would bug me and I would have to know.  I am sure that your RE has a reason why.  GL otherwise!!!

    I don't know if this is true or not but I read somewhere that days 3-7 were more likely to produce multiple mature eggs that days 5-9.  Like I said I have no idea how accurate that is.

    Diagnosed PCOS 2/07, TTC #1 since 8/09
    11/10 - Clomid Round 1 = BFN
    12/10 - Clomid Round 2 = BFN
    1/11 - Voluntary Break = BFN (duh)
    2/11 - Clomid Round 3 = BFN
    3/11 - Femara + IUI = BFP * Beta#1=56 * Beta#2=266
