places to buy maternity clothes used?

Hi all--

I am trying to keep costs down and want to buy maternity clothes used if possible. I thought places like Once Upon a Child had maternity clothes, but apparently not. I was at the one in Troy and they don't have any. Any suggestions? I am in the Birmingham area.

Thanks!

  • Baby Baby in downtown Northville has some in their basement area.

If you are ever in the Ypsi/AA area, the Once Upon a Child on Washtenaw Ave. just east of US 23 has maternity clothes I thought I remember seeing.

  • There is a second hand maternity store on Woodward in Royal Oak, i can't think of the name of it, it's on the east side i think somewhere around 13 mile road.

  • Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I love spending a day in Ann Arbor so I might check it out. Same for Northville. And the RO place sounds like it's almost next door to my obgyn.

     Thanks again!

  • Slightly pregnant in Royal Oak, I went there and they had a HUGE selection but to me I thought the prices weren't "that" great! I went to Burlington coat factory (Baby Depot) has a nice selection of Maternity Clothes and CHEAP the jeans were like $12-15 and shirts from $4-10. Also, I heard Once Upon a Child in Ann Arbor is the only one that carries Maternity clothes.
  • Check out www.mom2momlist.com for all the mom2mom sales in the area, then scour them! I got some great deals, like $5 gap jeans, etc. Not sure how the sales are in your area. When you go, check for bins under the tables or hanging racks that would have maternity clothes in them.

Also, don't forget about craigslist and ebay, where you can buy clothes in "lots" with several pieces. :)

  • Not sure where you are but the Salvation Army at John R and Auburn usually has nice maternity stuff. I bought a few things there that were even brand new, with tags.

I didn't think the prices were that great either, but saving $5 here or there does add up :) I hope you find some good deals in Ann Arbor!

The Once Upon a Child in Ann Arbor has  an entire wall of maternity clothes! Also try salvation army.

  • Also try Old Navy sales, I could walk out of there with entire new outfits for under $15.
