Success after IF

Poll: How long does it take to drive to your RE?

Since we moved it now takes 45 minutes to get there one way.  It wasn't bad today but I also took the day off because DD is sick but trying to get up there and to work on time is not going to be fun!  Just curious how far does everyone else travel?

Re: Poll: How long does it take to drive to your RE?

  • 15 minutes - they closed that location after I was done going to the RE.  So, it really does not affect me.

If I were to go back to a RE, the closest one would be about an hour away

  • It's 6 miles to my RE (and, more important recently, my MFM) - so about 10 or 15 minutes by the time I navigate the garage, park, get into the office, etc.

And I am thankful for the proximity every time I make the drive!  I don't take it for granted at all, as I know how many have a long commute, and I can't imagine having that added hardship, along with whatever sends you there.

  • 45 minutes is the closest office to me!

  • depends on what time my appt is...for monitoring before work, i had traffic to deal with, so it was more like half an hour...if I was able to go during the day, from work, it was only like 10 minutes
  • I walk to mine. It is about 3 blocks away.

  • When we lived in Cali, I drove about four hours each way. When we moved to VA, it was between two and two and a half, depending on the time of day. Being military, I had far fewer options, unless I choose to pay OOP.

  • About 10 min. to my main office (all monitoring done there), but my RE is huge in this area & they have several offices. All ERs & ETs are done at the main location, so that's about a 45 min.- 1 hour drive.
  • from my house:  10 minutes.  from my old office: 2 minutes.  from my new office:  20 minutes.  Big Smile  For appts at my old office for my first 2 IUI's and IVF, I could do a monitoring appt in my 15 minute morning break, and not have to take time off!  They are so prompt!

  • My RE has two offices. The main one I went to was an hour and 10 minutes and the second office an hour and a half. I did all my weekday monitoring, iuis and u/s at the main one but on weekends and hollidays I had to go to the second office. Also they do all ERs and ETs at the second office as well and they have this great plan for pts who live over 45 minutes, they put you up in a hotel overnight the night before ER. It was a little rough getting up so early to head out there and was oh so much fun during bad weather, but I love my RE and his staff so it was absolutely worth all those early mornings and miles.

  • Depending on the time of my appt, I'd say 20-25 mins or as long as an hour+ with traffic.

  • I live a stone's throw to the university medical center here, so it's about 4 minutes...maybe 3 if I get lucky with lights or 5-6 if I hit every light, LOL.  My first RE was about 15 minutes away, then I upgraded *and* got closer!  When I switched I researched within a 2 hour radius and chose mine (I recall considering 7 different clinics in all); of course I would have driven however far it took, but in the end I got so lucky with the drive.

  • Less than 10 minutes, provided I don't need to go to another office. All retrievals and transfers are done at an office about 30-40 minutes away, which stinks, but I guess it could be worse.

  • 2 hours each way to RE, but 3 hrs to the office for ER and ET.  Sucked, especially when I had 7 am appts, then the drive back and get to work by just after 9 am.  I felt like I'd already had a full day!
