Having/Already Had A Scheduled C/S???

When you have a planned C-Section do they still do the internal exams at the end of your pregnancy??

Before I had my c-sections, my OB still did internals. Even when I was in labor before being wheeled down to the OR, internals were done.

I only had 1 at my 38 week appointment, "just to see" if anything was happening so I'd know if my water broke unexpectedly whether I was already dilated.

i'm having my c-section on the 27th, and so far, this past week they haven't done an internal. but they did the week before. so i'm not too sure!

Yes because she wants to know if I am progressing in case we need to move the date.

My dr did not do internals before my scheduled CS.

Mine never did internals last time (until my 40 week appointment when they stripped my membranes) and I don't expect them to do it this time. I hope not, I hated it.

Depends on the practice. This is my 3rd planned c/s. I have not had ANY internals. Its always in the back of my mind that I could be progressing, and no one know, but my dr. said if I feel like I am leaking or whatever, call the office or labor and delivery (after hours). But I would do that anyway, even if I wasn't a sceduled c/s.

It does make for boring appts. though!

I've had one internal when they did my group B strep test at 35 weeks. The nurse told me since I have a scheduled c/s they won't do an internal every week unless I've been having contractions, cramping, or leaking. I don't see a need for weekly internals at this point so I'm ok with their system.

My OB office policy is they don't do internals until 39 weeks well I am having my c-section at exactly 39 weeks this coming Wed the 26th so no internals for me which I am happy about...I always hated having them done and esp when I was in labor they hurt like anything
