Let me tell you about bedtime last night

It was late. Here's why. I put DD down for a nap at 1pm. DD woke up at 5:55 when DH spilled the can recycling. I had to pry her out of bed because it was dark and she thought she was still supposed to be in bed. So after our previously mentioned accident (from which I am still swollen and sore.) We had dinner and DD woke up more. 8pm is bedtime. 8pm showed up. DH and I were sitting slack jawwed on the couch watching our daughter run back and forth accross the living waving her arms over her head screaming and laughing not unlike Kevin in Home Alone when he realizes he is alone.

There was really only one thing to do about that really. DH got up and joined her. They danced for a few minutes and then we had a screaming contest. Then they played soccer. By 9pm DD was quietly sitting on the couch and DH and I put her to bed. Three stories, five renditions of the itsy bitsy spider, the shake out your sillies dance and a couple of games with her stuffed animals DD went to sleep. She was hilarious.
