Planning a Babymoon

Hi Ladies!

DH and I are planning our babymoon for May and I was hoping for some suggestions.  We will deff be flying but there are so many places to choose.

Did you take one and if so where?

  • We did Galveston and Dallas. We drove, stayed in a nice hotel, and enjoyed dining, and site seeing

  • I guess you could count my free trip to Vegas as ours even though I hate that term. My advice dont go to Vegas PG it sucks donkey balls.

  • I had really wanted a romantic getaway for the two of us, but we are flying out of town for baby showers so that's using up most of our travel budget. In February we are going to Birmingham and in March we are going to Minneapolis. I can't fly after that!

I'm excited though, it will be good to see everyone one last time before I become a Mommy. = )

  • We went to San Antonio for an extended weekend. Did Sea World, the Riverwalk, the zoo, went to a drive in movie on the outskirts of town, and just had fun together.
  • I say go somewhere you've been wanting to go that doesn't involve alcohol...ie: don't go to Vegas or Mexico.  Your hubs and anyone you're with will drink and you'll be bored to tears.  Locally, maybe the Hill Country.  If you're flying consider the Florida Keys, California coast or maybe NYC.
  • What kind of things do you want to do?

My favorite cities to visit that revolve around things other than drinking and staying out late are Chicago and Palm Springs. Lots to do, see and eat!

For just laying around and relaxing, I LOVE the Four Seasons in Dallas. You can go to great restaurants, spa, and be pampered the hotel. The pool area is especially nice. It's one of my favorite quick getaways, and it doesn't feel like you are in Dallas.

Closer, the Lost Pines between here and Austin is awesome. Lots of walking/nature trails, nightly smores at the outdoor campfire, great pool to relax at. Great restaurant there, and it's super affordable for a "resort". You can sign up for specials on Hyatt's website or on the Lost Pines FB page.

Hill Country is also fun, but I like to visit the wineries too much for that!

  • We went to Hawaii and it was PERFECT! I hung out alot in the pool/beach. I had LOTS of virigin pineapple drinks. We ate tons of yummy food and went snorkeling and did alot of site seeing. I totally recommend it and we didn't have a bad flight either. It was broken up so it wasn't bad at all. I had lots of fun.

  • We went on a 3 day cruise to Cozumel. Cozumel was great, the lack of alcohol didn't bother me at all. But it was my first cruise and I was SO seasick that the other days were a misery. I didn't know if it was ok to take meds for it, so I didn't. I just lay there most of the time. Ugh. But if it's ok to take the seasick meds while pg, then I think that's a nice relaxing thing to do.

  • We did Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. Martha's Vineyard wasn't worth it, but Nantucket and Chatham were wonderful!
  • We went to Mexico for a week.  It was awesome.  I drank virgin Pina Coladas and layed on the beach and floated in the pool.  We slept in, ate room service and just hung out...  Wonderful!
  • We went to Turks & Caicos and stayed on a basically empty beach.  It was so beautiful and romantic, you could walk for miles and only see your own footprints.
