When can I carry my toddler??

My delivery was vaginal and I have no stitches but they told me "no heavy lifting for 2 weeks". Does this mean that I can't carry him for 2 weeks?? Dh is SUPER strict about it and is getting really mad every time he sees me lift up A or anything. But he's my baby too and it is killing me that I can't give him a bath or even put him down for bedtime! Anyhow, he's 27lbs so I guess that counts as heavy lifting right? I'm going to call my OBs office when they're back from lunch but I keep forgetting so I figured I'd ask here.

Re: When can I carry my toddler??

  • Technically, that would be heavy-lifting. But personally, I felt good sooner and I could not resist carrying my big baby. lol Hope you got an answer from your Ob. ;)
