I know this sounds crazy but DD is starting to show a huge interest in the potty. I can usually tell when she is going to poop so sometimes I take her diaper off and put her on the toilet. (pretty much just to make clean up easier for me) A few days ago I sat her on the potty after her bath just to see if by a miracle she would pee..I was going to let her run naked and didn't want her to pee on the floor. As soon as I sat her down she started to poop. Today at daycare (I work at an in home daycare part time and she goes with me) she saw another kid using the potty and freaked out trying to get on it. I said "you have no idea what you are doing but go for it".....she sat there for 5 seconds and then peed! WTH? Shes not even 15 months old. Should I buy a potty or would that be completely crazy? If I should then which one? She doesn't understand the concept of backing up to it and sitting down so it needs to be something she can sort of straddle.
Re: Potty?
Buy a potty!! DD started showing interest briefly around 13 months so I bought one. She hasn't worn a diaper during the day since before the New Year. Absolutely no struggle since she wanted to use the potty. It does happen!
Here's what we got:

I've read others that got the Fisher-Price Precious Planet one and liked it. We also got a seat for the big potty, which she actually uses more.
We have a potty! It's just the Baby Bjorn starter potty. He hasn't gone in it yet, but we let him sit on it before we get him in the shower, just to start the assocation. Once he's truly ready I want to get one of those seats.
I say go for it!
