  I am so sorry for your loss.
  

  I took misoprostol around 6pm on a Monday because my Dr. told me it could take up to 24 hours to work and we wanted to get it started as soon as possible.  This turned out not to be the best idea because I started bleeding around 10pm and bled heavily until around 4am. The cramping was quite intense.  I continued to bleed throughout the following day but was able to sleep and not get up every 30 minutes like I had been over night.  I followed up with the Dr. 3 days after the misoprostol and she said that "everything" was pretty much cleared and that I wouldn't need a D&C.  I spotted/bled for about 12 days following, at times it was like a normal period. 

  I chose this option because of the cost, mostly, and because I didn't really know any better.  My Dr. also advised us that it was the safest option as the D&C can lead to a higher risk of infection, etc. but we knew that even after 1 round of misoprostol, we could have had to do it anyway but for the less than $10 prescription, it was the most feasible option.

   

  ETA:  I was taking 800mg Ibuprofen regularly for a few days to combat the pain from the cramping.

  I took Cytotec over a week ago which I think is a form a misprostal.  It did not work for me.  I had 2 doses and each time I start cramping and spotting but that was it.  I am scheduled for a D&C on thurs but I started misarrying on my own tonight(YAY) so hopefully I wont have to have it.
