Success after IF

His bedtime can't be 6:30!

Lately Jack hasn't been getting his one long nap at school, this means we get home and he is ready for bed at 6:30. We don't get home till 5! This only leaves me an hour to give him dinner, bath, play, and cuddle before he is melting down Sad

  • Oh no!  I hope he starts napping better so you get more evening time!

  • That's totally my life when Gabrielle goes to daycare.  For what ever reason, instead of the two naps or one extremely long nap I get out of her, they can barely get her to nap for an hour or two.  She's always melting down by 6/6:30 pm on those days.  I didn't even get her through her bath before she was melting down tonight, and on some night, it hasn't been unusual for her to miss dinner.  Annoying as all get out.

  • That's so tough :(  Sam is like that some days too, but it's no fun to be up with a mess of a baby, so early bed time it is.  I pick Sam up around 5:15 so often that means by the time we get home, we get him fed and immediately ready for bed.  It sucks, but it's what he needs.

    Live for the weekends, right??

  • I know...  It's hard.  DS has fluctuated his bed times between 6:30 and now we are up to 7-7:30, but I used to not get home with him until 5:30 so that didn't leave much time at all.  My DH picks him up now so he is usually home before 5 and we can stretch the bedtime to 7:15-7:30 so that gives us a little more time.  I can't wait until he is able to stay awake longer so we have more time to play, etc.
    Nothing to see here....
  • That is our schedule too. At daycare they nap from 12-2. He sometimes even falls asleep in the car on the way home from daycare at 5. :( To try to push his bed time later than 6:30 is just a bad idea- he is miserable and that makes us miserable. Today- he is sick with a cold... he went down at 5:50. I am sure this means he will be wide awake at 4am, but he was so cranky and tired-- i cant fight it.

  • Jones has been trying to push his bedtime up too! :(. He got the worlds fastest bath tonight because he wanted to do was nurse and fall asleep :(
  • I feel your pain.  Lucy is ready for bed by 6:30 too... less than 2 hours a night with her, and I am gone before she is up for the day.

"luckily" she doesn't sttn yet (haha) so I get plenty of time with her at 1:00, 2:30, 3:45, etc. :)

  • Our LO falls asleep between 6:30-7 every night. *sigh* I try to get into work early and leave early so that I can make it home by 5 to spend time with her. It's hard, but I do what I can. I'm totally in the same boat as you. I've found that when I try to keep her up later, it doesn't help anything...she doesn't sleep any later in the morning...so I found just to follow her schedule is best. I figure it will change as she gets older.
