I'm pretty excited DH said he would get me one for my birthday but I have no idea what to get. I wouldn't want to spend too much and not use it often? But I also don't want one that is very limited...Any suggestions?
I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BS01KK from a local store for about $200 (refurbished). I haven't gotten very far on it, but it's neat b/c it has embroidery capability, too.

Mine is a New Home. It's very simple to use because the sewing styles are printed on the front of the machine so you don't have to look up the settings each time you change the stitching style. It sews nicely, but I have never gotten the tension just right. I can't remember, but I know it was under $300. Good machine so far. I've had it (moderate use) for about 6 years now.
