We are going to put A in a MDO program next fall. I have found a couple that have the option to pick how many days a week you go and then I have also found a few that meet 2 days a week. We are wanting her to go two days a week, because that will a)give her social interaction and b)allow me to get some things done.
My question is what would you consider a good price? The costs seem to be all over the board and since I have never paid for daycare, etc I am not sure what is a good price and what is not.
Any thoughts are appreciated
Re: A ? about Mother's Day Out Programs
I think the pricing depends on what you're getting - like how long the day is, what you have to bring vs what they provide, and a lot of times - area/reputation/popularity of the program.
Mitchell is starting MDO at the beginning of next month in a program similar to yours where you can pick the # of days. He's going 3 days a week and the cost is $160 a month. That's pretty reasonable for 3 days and it's long compared to some others. He'll go from 9 - 2:30. Because of the length of it the kids a snack and lunch which I have to provide. Places where they may provide snacks and/or lunch may charge more. (Although I was informed that parents get together and provide snacks in bulk, taking turns).
There are a couple other programs I was interested in that were more expensive which I'd be fine w/ because of their reputation - but I felt comfortable with who we chose. I got the warm and fuzzies from the director and liked how they ran things and get to save money to boot. Not to mention there isn't even a traffic light between my house and the church - so the convenience of it was a plus as well. I can get to him quickly if I need to.
I think Rory has her DD in a program near (we live in the same general area). I'll let her give you the details so that I don't mispeak but I think it's one of the ones I checked out.
Let me know if I can answer anything else about it for you!
Allie goes to a MDO program here 2 days a week from 9-2. We pay $105 a month (it goes up to $110 a month for next year.) We also provide lunch each day, but they supply snacks.
The other program we looked at before making our decision is $183 a month...so a pretty big difference. Both programs came highly recommended...and I talked to several people before making a decision. My number one choice in choosing our program was that my BFF teaches kindergarten in a local school and she told me that her top students every year come from their preschool program.
