I have a feeling this is going to go on for a while, and I can hardly stand it.
So,
I was really excited to discover last week that I was pregnant - HCG
level of 12 on Friday, Jan 14. Then I got a faint but clear positive
HPT (First Response) Monday night. Then I got a follow-up HCG draw of
just 31 on Tues, Jan 18. Today I took an HPT test (HEB one step,
comparable to EPT) and the 3 turned out positive, but the FAINTEST
LINES IN THE WORLD. Like you had to look hard to see them, but they
were there. This makes me think my HCG level is either decreasing or is
still not high enough.
...and it's driving me crazy.
I don't have any bleeding or sharp pains - I had menstrual-like cramping for a few days and some, and those are mostly gone now (every once in a while I'll feel a cramp). But other than my nipples being kinda sore this morning, I don't have any other symptoms. In fact the soreness went away this morning.
I've read lots of horror stories of ectopic pregnancies starting out this way, and considering my doc is really keeping me in the dark (I've only talked to the nurses), I just don't know when I'll really know what's going on.
I'll find out HCG #3 tomorrow, and then I go in again on Saturday for another.
I
really can deal with either scenario, but the in between...it's just so
frustrating.
If anyone's got advice, let me know...I feel all the research and stuff is up to me!
Re: Low HCG levels...
The only advice I would give is walk away from the internet. You'll drive yourself MAD over analyzing everything and trying to get the answer to something. Pregnancy is really such an individual thing, meaning it can be different for everyone. For now, enjoy being pregnant.
I know this because I did tons of research on the net with my low numbers and the stories were so vast it made my head spin.
Unfortunately, my story does not end well for I had a chemical pregnancy 2 weeks after my BFP. I truly hope yours is a story of miracle and a quadruple of beta levels but if not, the ladies here are absolutely lovely and supportive. I wish you the best.

I'm sorry you are going through this.
Unfortunately I don't really have any encouraging news for you. Your numbers are barely increasing on time, they should double every 48-72 hours but should lean towards every 48 hours.
It sounds like you might have a chemical pregnancy but you should know more when you get the 3rd set of numbers in.
I wish you the best of luck!
Yep, so last (and final) HCG blood draw = 9.
Fortunately, my "period" came the day I heard the news and I think that's almost over with.
What an awful week.
I'm ready to move on and try, try again!
