Babies: 6 - 9 Months

XP: Tell me about your midsize SUV!

We are looking to trade in my convertible since its 2 door (such a pain) and I can hardly fit. hah We want to stay under 13000, since we should be able to trade in the convertible for about that much and not have to have any payments on the new car.

I've already got Expeditions, Pathfinders, Jeep Liberties, Jeep Commander (I REALLY like the way those look, so if you have one, tell me about it!!), Trailblazers, Chevy Equinox, Saturn Vue, and Chrysler Pacificas (These look so roomy) on my list. So if you have one, be sure to tell me how it worked!! Thanks, gals!

My BIGGEST thing about the new SUV, I have to be able to fit in the drivers seat (from now to 9mo pregnant. haha) AND have Annabelle's car seat fit behind me, base and all. That's the biggest issue we're running into with the convertible, I cant sit in the driver seat and BREATHE with her sitting behind me and James cant even think about sitting in the passenger seat if Annabelle is sitting behind there. So with the new baby and Annabelle in a convertible car seat, I need the room for everything and for us both to sit comfortable.

  • Have you looked into the Toyota 4Runner? Plenty of room and I love mine.

  • I drive a Toyota 4Runner and love it! Lots of room and mine has 4WD which is nice for the Kansas weather.  It gets about 20 mpg.  I have also owned a Honda CR-V and it was pretty roomy as well!! HTH!!

  • I have a Toyota Rav 4, and the back seat is very spacious. The "trunk" area is pretty accommodating to all of our baby stuff as well. It's pretty good on gas too!
  • I drive a Mazda CX-9 and love it. Very roomy and a smooth ride. If you want something smaller there is also the Mazda CX-7.
A hundred hearts would be too few To carry all my love for you.

I agree. In addition to the Rav 4, we have a CX 7 as well. I love them it!

  • I have to say I would not go with the jeep liberty .  I just sold mine. I loved my jeep but it just was not baby friendly . Not enough room in the back for carseats . An the back doors do not open wide enough so it is really hard to get a infant carrier in and out of the car if it is on a base . Like I said it is a great suv and really fun to drive just may not be the best choice for someone with children that need carseats.

  • After I had Nate I traded in my Jeep Patriot for a Ford Explorer and I could not be happier. We got a new, more expensive model but thats because it had the certain specifications that we were looking for but even the older model was super awesome and we almost got that one. It has PLENTY of room in it. It has a 3rd row that folds down when we are not using it. We got this SUV because we want to have kids pretty close in age and I needed a car that had enough for 2 car seats and all the gear to go along.

We love our CX-9. Very roomy and my husband who is a huge car guy (will never own a mini van) says its fun to drive.
