When Lucas wakes up in the middle of the night, which he has been doing for over a week now, he won't go back to sleep unles he is in our bed. Once he is back in our bed, he scratches his head for mintues. Any ideas for itch relief?
He had been using California Baby shampoo for the past 2 months; but I noticed that it looked like he had cradle cap. He has A LOT of hair, so it's tough to see what is going on. Currently his scalp appears clear of the cradle cap type stuff, but he does have a couple of specks where he has scratched the skin bloody from all the night-time itching. I just switched to Aveeno moisturizing shampoo last night.
I doubt that CB shampoo caused this, but you never know. It's more likely that it's the dry air.
Thoughts on how to make his poor little noggin stop itching?
Re: What can I do for an itchy head?
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I was going to suggest switching shampoo's, which you've already done.
I've heard Head & Shoulders (the original) helps with cradle cap. I used it on Henry a few times and it did seem to help some. I don't know if I'd use it on raw skin though. It might help with the itch too...
If you don't mind the greasy look for a few days, maybe rub his scalp with baby oil or even hydrocortizone cream. If you use the cortizone, only use a little bit, because I think it is a steriod.
