  I did that diet a few years back and lost alot of weight but I was obsessed with it. I would measure it exactly and eat the cereal 2X and sometimes 3X aday and worked out almost all day(before i had a baby ofcourse) but in all you only eat about 600 calories a day! Ive wanted to do it again but with my son being the lil destructor he is it will be a little hard :P

  It's a starvation diet.

  I am not doing the Special K diet, however, I eat Special K here and there for breakfast...and have noticed that my baby has more gas and spit-up when I eat it.  It's hard to say for sure that that is the cause -but it seems to match when I eat it and when I don't.

  Are you EBFing? If you are, the Special K diet isn't a good idea. You actually need more calories when breastfeeding. I'd suggest waiting until your LO is weaned before trying a diet like that. Good luck!

  The maternity nurse and BF coordinator in me needs to get this out.

  Yes it is recommended a woman eats extra cals while BF. The truth though is that your body will still make breastmilk no matter what you eat, as long as you're clearly not emaciated and skin and bones.

  But it's important to eat healthier foods because so that your breastmilk has healthier components in it.

  You could go on the Special K diet while excl BF but between that and BF, you'll be zapping your energy.
