Re: What are you reading these days?
Im a bookworm. LOL
Currently Im rereading the Shopaholic series- it had been years since Id read them all so that was fun. Especially since they just came out with the newest one- Mini Shopaholic.
I really like the books by Philippa Gregory- she writes historical fiction. Most of her books take place during the Tudor period in England. King Henry XIII and his wives- including Anne Boleyn. The Other Boleyn Girl was especialy my favorite. It was actually made into a movie a couple years ago but the book is WAY better.
I'm reading the second Stieg Larsson book, The Girl Who Played With Fire
I LOOOOVE reading but I've been so tired lately that I only get in a few pages per night if I'm lucky.
Owen Anders: labor (natural onset), failed VBAC, emergency c/s.
Twin boys born too early at 17w4d and 18w2d in February 2010
Transabdominal cerclage placed September 2010
DS born at 35w1d in February 2011
Twin girls born at exactly 36w in February 2013
The Hangman's Daughter.
I usually don't do mysteries, but this one isn't too trashy. I'm enjoying it and it's fairly light reading...albeit a little dark with all the medieval torture talk.
I'm re-reading the first 4 books in Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. The last book came out this week, but it's been a year or so since I read the others and I need to refresh my memory.
It's hard to describe this series. It's listed as a romance, but it's really not. It's more of a paranormal mystery/suspense.
I love her too! She's hilarious!
Just yesterday I decided to go back and read some classics that I read in middle/high school and probably didn't get the full effect.
So I started Mansfield Park by Jane Austen last night and have Brave New Wolrd up next.
I figured baby probably won't let me read the hard stuff so I am going to knock out a couple while I can!
I'm reading Bump in the Road by Maureen Lipinski. It's cute...light, easy read about a girl who gets pregnant.
I HIGHLY recommend Looking For Alaska by John Green. GREAT book.
Also, Something Borrowed and Something Blue--both my Emily Giffin.
If you like Chick Lit type books, check out this website: www.chicklitclub.com They have great recs

Yesterday I finished reading Freedom by Jonathan Franzen and really enjoyed it. He also wrote Corrections which was a great book. Today I started reading Decoded by Jay-Z which I'm enjoying so far. I agree with everyone else, the Girl with The Dragon Tatoo series is fabulous if you haven't read any of those yet.
I love the first two Suzanne Finnamore books - Otherwise Engaged and Zygote Chronicles. Also, right now I'm reading This is Where I Leave You which has been great so far. If you haven't read The Help, it is one of the best books I've read in years. And I'm a librarian . . . you can trust me.
I've been reading some non-fiction lately...
Infidel, by Ayaan Hirsi Ali - a memoir/biography, what an eye opener!
The Omnivore's Dilemma, by Michael Pollen - you will never grocery shop the same way again!
i cosign with PP's loving Jen Lancaster.
i bought Millie's Fling (british chick lit) when it was free for the Kindle and it's pretty good.
i plan to read The Help next. especially cause i got that gift card to amazon the yesterday. unless my mom convinces me to start the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo since it's only $5 (for Kindle)
I got my Kindle FINALLY (DH ordered it in Nov for my xmas gift but it was on 8-10week backorder for international orders
) last Tuesday and I bought The Help as my first purchase. I am about 60% through it, and it is very good, as mentioned above!! Highly highly recommend it!!!
I am also currently reading Happiest Baby on the Block, and have about 20 pages to go, I'd estimate. Everyone I've spoken to that has kids and read that book said it was a lifesaver, so I'm glad I'll have it done by the time baby's here!! Next up for baby reading is Dr. Jack Newman's Guide to Breastfeeding... it looks a little dry so I hope I can get through it by end of March!!
Decision Points - George W. Bush
IMO, whether you like him or not, it is a good read.
I've been a lot of older stuff from high school as one of the pp's stated. I'm reading 1984 & Animal Farm right now.
For everyone that has the Kindle, you know that they announced an upgrade where you can share books with other Kindle users? Similar to the one the Nook users. I'm excited! I love my Kindle
