I've always prepped new diapers by just washing them a bunch of times. But I've always bought a bunch at a time. Now I have just one new diaper (a BG 4.0 that came free with purchase). Can I prep it by washing it with my other dirty diapers? Or will that somehow deposit something on the old ones?

my understanding is that for synthetics (including BG 4.0's), you can wash just once, with regular diaper laundry. however, for natural fibers (eg: cotton, hemp), you want to wash multiple times, separately.
...which is annoying, since i have 3 BG elementals I still haven't prepped (well, i washed them once with regular diaper laundry before i realized the above - oops), b/c I can't bring myself to wash 5 loads of just 3 diapers
i'll bite the bullet and do it soon, since i really want to use them, but how much detergent should I put in for just 3 dipes? we have a HE front-loader - do i need to throw in extra towels or anything for more water? wouldn't the buildup on the towels (from regular detergent) get onto the dipes? or am I totally overthinking this?

I did this and didn't see any issues (same, BG AIO/elemental) And I actually started using it after 1-2 washes.
. Maybe the absorbency increased with time but I just never put him in it overnight/extended periods and never had an issue with leaks or skin problems.
ooh, thanks! i'm totally doing this, thanks!
