I get to daycare yesterday and there's my daycare mom laid up on the couch with her foot in a "boot." She was taking the kids (at 10 am) for a walk around the block and fell off of the house steps. She managed to crawl back into the house and get the kids in, before calling her husband. She has 6 kids there ages 18 months, 2 yrs, 2 1/2 yrs, 2: 3 yrs and a 4 yr old. She also called the grandmother of several of the kids to come watch them while her husband took her to the med center. Her foot is not broken, but may have tendon issues or something. I helped her from 7:30 am to 8:30 am this morning, til her assistant could arrive and I'm going back from 2:30 to 5:30 today when her assistant has to leave. I also cooked them dinner for tonight. While I was there this morning, her realtor called and has a couple scheduled to come look at their home at 6:30 tonight! So, I also offered to help her clean/put kid stuff away before they come. On a side note, I see that Claire has on a pull up last night when we got home. I said, "Claire, what do you have on??" She says (with great pride) "Pull up!!!" I said, "Who gave you that?" She says, "Tee!!! (Steve, the husband) No doubt, the poor guy had no idea and Claire was quick to swipe the other girl's pull up. When I was changing her last night, she just HAD to hold it and look at it like, 'ahhhh, my first pull up."
Wish me luck! Daycare mom's have the patience of a Saint and I was only there for an hour this morning!
