The past 2 years we have been given flex spending debit cards to use for our copays, FSA approved expenses and any other uninsured expenses. The FSA administrator checked to make sure it was an approved expense and a few times we've been asked to submit additional information. Not a big deal.
Evidently, there has been such an abuse of the system with employees at Ryan's company that they have done away with the FSA credit cards altogether. We now have to pay the expense out of pocket, submit everything for reimbursement and then be mailed a paper check from the FSA. They can take up to 90 days to reimburse us.
It shouldn't be this hard.
Re: I've got an insurance complaint too. Grr.
Ours besides prescriptions a lot of times they would make you send in the paperwork even when we had the card, and if you didn't right away they'd suspend the card. Hello, what do you think I'm buying at my dr's office?
I'm irked that you can no longer use up your extra $ to buy cough syrup, advil, etc unless you have a dr's prescription for it.
