I woke up to a lot of blood this morning at about 4am and we immediately went to the ER. I thought I was peeing in my pants as I had to go pee so bad, but turned on the light and realized it was blood and not urine. I was bleeding pretty heavily and had blood down my thighs.
It's the first time I've ever been in the ER as a patient. I didn't have any cramps, but my back was hurting (and has been for days - I think my bones are moving). After a nearly two hour wait (we hit on a shift change, and to his credit, the doctor came in less than five minutes into his shift), we got an u/s. The baby looked great and even measured four days ahead (measured 12w5d)! They were also able to do an abdominal u/s (they did a transvaginal one too for a better view) and we were able to hear the heartbeat! What a blessing! I'm crying just thinking of it. It's the first time I've ever heard my baby's real heartbeat and not the machine simulation. Everything looks great with the baby (and the u/s tech said there's a good possibility it's a boy), but I have a small (2 cm) placental tear. I'm hoping it'll resolve on it's own and the bleeding has already decreased a lot. I'm waiting on my OB's office to open to call her for a follow up appointment.
I'd appreciate any T&PS you can give that the tear fixes itself and that we get to meet this sweet baby in August. Thank you in advance.
UPDATE - Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them!
I just got off the phone with the doctor. It's a sub coronic hemorrhage (I have no idea how to spell that) under the placenta and is apparently some sort of blood clot. Weird. She said it's quite common and should resolve itself. I'm on bed rest for 2 weeks and then get another sono to check to see if it's resolved. The bleeding has decreased quite a bit and is now like a light period. It seems to be getting better as the day goes on, so I'm hoping it'll end soon. I'm also avoiding googling it. I tend to only remember the bad parts, so I think it's best that I avoid it and DH can look it up and tell me the highlights.
Here's my AW: DH moment - DH has been a complete doll and is waiting on me hand and foot. He's doing my laundry now as I am out of clean clothes (plus he's really good at it). I'm going to miss him when he goes back to work tomorrow.
