1st tri 'ish kinda question

in Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

were any of you congested real bad during your first trimester? I keep waiting for a cold  but have no other symptoms other than congestion.

I have to constantly keep breathing out of my mouth and it's been going on for a week. 

No other symptoms like fever, runny nose, itchy eyes, aches are coming up - just congestion.  I've never had sinus problems in my life.  Will this go away soon?

    Yes!  I was congested thru 2nd tri.  A neti pot helped, or saline nasal spray.  It was horribly annoying.

    i think that is pretty normal--like aren't fluids being redirected to other areas so some things dry out?   i thought i remember reading that when pg.   plus it's winter so that doesn't help either--dig out the humidifier!

    I have been like that for most of my first tri with this pregnancy and same when I was pregnant with DS too.

    YES! The increased blood flow cause my saliva glands to over produce, and my mucus membranes to over produce so I had super bad drainage and was always spitting out the extra saliva. The combination of the two made me nauseous throughout my entire pregnancy! One thing that seemed to help the congestion was the Netti Pot, and taking a 12 hr allergy pill once a day. I had to resort to the allergy meds because I couldn't keep anything down because the drainage upset my stomach so much. At night I would do the saline rinse, or use a saline nasal spray. Hope it gets better for you soon!

    Those kinda problems lasted all the way until the end of the 2nd trimester.

    Oh heck yes. Annoyingly, it lasted throughout my entire pregnancy.  Like the pp said, the neti pot and saline spray were my best friends.

    YES!  It's called "Pregnancy Rhinitis" or something like that!  It was so annoying to be stuffy and KU in the hot summer---GAH!

    Yes! I remember being pretty congested on and off through my whole pregnancy.

    I didn't have a settings tab to change my privacy settings. Several emails to thebump were ignored re: this issue, so I went ahead and changed my sn so I could set my privacy the way I wanted it. 

    No scandal this time ;)

    seriously, I'm trying to figure out what programmers the bump hires sometimes.  With all the glitches I find, I dare to go on record and say that IT sucks.   Sorry you had to go through that. 

    I went in at 5 weeks (LMP 12/8), they only saw a gestational sac but I figured it was too early.  I go in on 1/28 to see the h/b

    Yup, was congested throughout my entire pregnancy with DS ... and sure enough, congested again with this one.

    And congrats on the pregnancy - will be crossing my fingers for a little heartbeat for you!
