1st Trimester

Quick question for those who have been pregnant before-

When (if at all) did your symptoms begin to subside in the first trimester? Is there any pattern? I am about 8 weeks today and for almost a week I have been feeling pretty great. My energy shot way back up, I'm not fatigued anymore, no sign of m/s and my evening queasiness, while still there, has gone away enough for me to eat dinner most nights. The past 2 nights my DH has fallen asleep on the couch while I was occupied in cleaning or schoolwork.

I'm cautiously hoping that the nausea and fatigue are gone for a nice long while-I still have about a month in first tri, but I'm starting student teaching next week and I want to be on the top of my game.

Re: Quick question for those who have been pregnant before-

  • Each pregnancy is different. I was sick the entire 9 months and I have friends who were sick for just a month. It depends on your body. Hopefully you will be done with it all and this is the beginning of easy sailing.

  • With DS, I had nausea from about 8w-13wks.
  • Well, with my first pregnancy I threw up every day until about 14 weeks.  That was when I started getting my energy back too.  This time, I'm nearing 11 weeks and feeling pretty fabulous.  I had m/s for about 3 weeks over the holidays - and it felt worse than it did with my first pregnancy so I was not relishing it sticking around until 2nd tri - but it has really mellowed out and I feel nauseated some each evening, but haven't thrown up in a week!  The energy is still so-so, but some of that is probably due to chasing my toddler around :)

  • My first pregnancy I didn't have any nausea, my second pregnancy it went away around 20wks. It varies so much between different women and different pregnancies though.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I had no symptoms in the 1st tri with DD and have had none (except for bloating and some sore boobs) this time around so far.

  • Every pregnancy is different.

I was sick until 21w but didn't have fatigue until 3rd tri.

  • I'm pretty sure each pregnancy is different, based on what I've seen from friends and family.

That being said - with DD, the only symptoms I had in first tri were a missed period, a tiny bit of fatigue and ravenous hunger. The hunger and fatigue did not start until about 6 weeks, and they left by the end of first tri.

This time, I had "symptoms" a day or two before getting my +. A bit of pinching in my lower abdomen during our evening walk, fatigue, Creamy CM (I never have any CM after O) and the desire to eat a spoonful of cream cheese (which is what made me test - I normally do not like anything dairy.)

I think more than anything, I was aware of these things because I knew they could be symptoms and we were actually trying. With DD I was oblivious.

I'm really hoping to go without MS again this time - I had none with DD, and it was a blessing.
