It's a total bummer that we can't go all out for our LO's, so let's share some ideas for decorating and such for small areas. I read a previous post where one mom hung decorations from the ceiling and I definitely want to come up with an idea like that. So...any ideas?

Re: For those who don't get a real nursery for LO...
Ditto to the moving situation.
We opted for a pack and play with bassinet and changing area features, which we'll keep in our room. Saves space but takes care of all of our needs till we can buy "real" furniture at our new place.
Being a 3rd time mom, I'm going to say "Big Hugs", but just so you know, I'm not decorating for the 3rd.
Here's why - I have had to redo the nursery around 18 mos everytime, b/c it's so babyish and almost everything you put out, you have to put away. Just know that someday, you'll have a blast decorating a toddler room that will probably last through Kindergarten.
We did not decorate for #2 or #3 and I'm officially decorating all 3 rooms after baby gets here and we know what we're having.
More ditto on the moving situation. LO is due in April and we move in August. Unfortunately we also move again the next May, so we won't be able to do a "real" room for her until after she's a year old.
We have an extra room in the house we're in now, so we made that her "nursery." We have a pack and play with a bassinet and a changing table and my mom bought a cute rug and a picture for the wall. She also made some curtains and she's making a matching quilt. Although we didn't get to go all out, it's still a cute little space that we can bring our baby girl home to, so it makes me less sad.

The decorations from the ceiling was posted to my original question.
Thanks for the follow up! I'm all ears!
I understand where you're coming from because my DD never really had a nursery. We were building a house when she was born and I didn't even decorate a nursery there because she was 10 months old when we moved. I always felt so sad about it.
Looking back, it was really a good move. When she hit 2 1/2 we started her big girl room. She was old enough to help me pick things out and we've had a lot of fun with it. It's now decorated in such a way that it can stay that way until she 9-10 years old.
We're doing the same for this baby. It'll share a room with us and then we'll figure it out from there.
We're hoping to move a few months after LO is born. That being said, I just can't have a blank guest room so I resorted to hanging some items on the wall/ceiling. I found another post of a bumpie who created her own mobile. Since I have one already, I decided to make a similar stuffed bird (6 of them) and hang them in two groups of three in two corners of the room. DH and I really thought it pulled the whole room together to make it have a nursery feel without going all out with paint or whatnot.

And here's my samples and pictures of some letter blocks and things I hung on the wall. The center frame was a hand crafted gift from my sister (PS, the two little frames still have stuff in them from a shower...later I can fill them with beautiful pics of my precious outside baby)!
