First ear infection

Allison has RSV and her first ear infection.  I almost didn't take her in to the pediatrician tonight because she has had a congested cough for a week and the nurse said not to bring her for another week unless she got a fever or started wheezing.  She has been wheezing off and on, so I insisted on bringing her in.  Anyway, the doctor said we caught the ear infection really early, but she was prescribed Amoxicillin (sp?).  I gave her the first dose tonight.  Anyone's LO have a reaction to Amoxicillin, I know that some side effects are upset stomach and possible rash.  Just curious about others experiences. TIA.

    My son goes to daycare and has had several ear infections. ?I'd say that he gets them every 6 weeks to 2 months. ?He has been on amoxicillin several times and it has always worked well with no bad reactions. ?I hope your daughter feels better quickly! ?My son usually seems like his normal self with no fever after about 24 hours or so. Good luck, it is no fun when they are sick!

    My DD had a horrible diaper rash from it. Keep an eye out for that because it came on really fast and horrible.

    Nothing to add except I could have wrote your post.!!  HOnestly I thought the DR was going to laugh me out of there and he has rsv and an ear infection

    My little guy had a reaction to amoxicillin, but it took a few days for it to appear.

    image   This is how it first started and within hours his entire body was really red and splotchy and he started scratching.

     DS has been on several antibiotics and he usually gets really bad diarrhea, so I would stock up on some really good diaper rash cream just in case.

    We took amox for jakcs nasty round with bronchitis, it worked well and the only side effect w saw was a little diarhhea
