DS was circumcized today :(

We took DS to a urologist's office to get it done. He was ok until they strapped him down, then he got upset when they numbed him. We were ok all the way through the procedure.

Then we came home. I think I know exactly when the numbness wore off because he started screaming his head off. It was at the point that I started crying. Luckily just a little comforting from me and he fell right back to sleep. So hard.

Oh no, sorry to hear. I would be a total wreck if we had to go through that with a baby boy, I cannot image how you feel. I hope your baby boy is doing better.

Just curious. Why did they wait till he was 5 days and do it through outpatient? Why not do it while he was in from birth?

Some hospitals won't do the procedure.

OP, that sucks, I'm sorry he isn't feeling so well.

I'm so sorry! We had to take our little man into the urologist's office for a follow up because I thought his circumcision area was infected (it looked gross!). It was HORRIBLE. They took him to the "procedure room" and he came back screaming and it was just awful. Real tears were streaming down his cheeks. But now he seems to be doing great! Good luck to your little guy!

My son is going to have it done next Tuesday. He'll be 7 weeks and 1 day old. I am SO scared. When LO was born he had blood platelet issues that prevented him from having the procedure done until now. Supposedly our pediatric surgeon does this all the time and was not turned off by his age.

I'm going to be a mess next Tuesday.

I hope your guy feels better soon!

Don't take this the wrong way, but why bother? I mean, he's 7 weeks old. Why not just leave him be?

Of course the surgeon is not turned off by his age, he's billing insurance for it.

yeah, we were in the room when my LO got his done, and i started crying before the doctor even came in

it was so sad, but im glad thats its over with.
