Eco-Friendly Family

I think our bedsharing days are over.

L has been sleeping really restlessly recently.  The other night she would not settle until I gave her a good bit of room in the bed so last night I just put her in the Arm's Reach at the beginning of the night.  She sacked right out and slept until 4am.  I really can't argue with that, when the past week she'd been waking every 30min-1hr.

I don't know why it makes me so sad, but it does!  S bedshared with us for 20mos.  L is still only 6" or so away from me but it feels so different.  I'm a wuss. lol

  • I have to say I'm a little jealous :|  Somehow we've ended up with BOTH girls in our bed.....  We do have a crib set up (and open) next to the bed like a co-sleeper for L :|  She just will not stay in her room.

  • MAN!  Sounds like my house.

C slept with us until almost a year (and still gets in our bed every morning)

but L on the other hand, he sleeps in the Arms reach next to us and sleeps gooood.  I bring him in the bed at the first nursing session and I have usually left him there.  But I've noticed he's been really restless so I the past 2 nights I put him back in the cosleeper and he zonks out and sleeps for another 4 straight hours...

makes me sad too.  so ::hugs:: to you as I feel your sympathy.  (although, it's nice to have my space too, I like sleeping with my baby!)

  • You guys just send your bed hog kids to me & butler.  We'll get some snuggles and you girls can enjoy not having kids piled on you.  It's a win/win! lol

I will take you up on that!! It was a miserable night last night as I tried to get both kids to bed by myself. One asleep and the other would wake up, get that one to sleep and the other would wake up the first. I ended up with both in bed with me which I really want to end.
  • I like sharing with C.  But man sometimes its hard.  He loves to sleep perpendicular to us.  (I think he just likes to know we are both there because every time I straighten him out his little arms reach out so he is still touching both of us).  Anyway, its fun when you are pg and have someone in your back that already hurts lol.

  • :(  That is bittersweet.  But you never know, she might be back in the bed again soon!

  • We never bedshared completely, but I remember being sorely disappointed when DS no longer would settle down when I brought him into bed in the mornings.  He'll still come in occasionally, but I loved our daily morning snuggle.

  • I'm both jealous and relieved.  Normally I don't mind the bedsharing (though she is getting bigger, lol), but I have a cold, and last night was miserable.  I couldn't fall asleep because every time I would finally get comfortable and close to drifting off, she would start crying and pulling at me to nurse.  I finally told DH I was outta there, resettled her, slipped out, and not three minutes later he was bringing her to me on the couch.  Um, no!  Then he tried to bring her back in and she was hysterical about needing me.  I finally fell asleep at about 3:30, back in bed.  Good god.

  • I gotta get G in his own crib... he's becoming mobile in his sleep, I've woken up a few times spooning him and I don't remember him moving and last night he was laying across my chest and I had ahold of his leg when I woke up... good to know it A. woke me up and B. I grabbed him but it still freaked me out on how much he's moving in his sleep! It could be b/c he's gotten 4 teeth in 10 days but still I sadly think its time he goes in his crib to be safe!
