3D/4D ultrasound

Have any of you Baltimore momma's or momma's to be had an elective ultrasound during your pregnancy?  If so, would you do it again?  And where did you go to have it done?  I'm contemplating doing one sometime after my anatomy scan but am still unsure.  I'm in the Mt. Washington area.  Please share your experiences!  TIA!

Re: 3D/4D ultrasound

  • I did one at 29w at Little Bo Peep in Owings Mills, after Weezie recommended them (and Rags used them later, as well).  We loved, loved, loved our experience there and would use them again in a heartbeat.  They'll recommend specific weeks that's the ideal time to do the 3d/4d (when LO will have some chub, but not so far along that LO will be cramped for space, making it difficult to get good images).  DH and I will absolutely do one again w/any other pregnancies.

You can read my post about my experience here.

  • Thanks so much for this response!  This is actually one of the places that came up when I googled it lol.  Do you by any chance remember what package you chose?

  • Little Bo Peep is great!  We will definitley be using their services again if/when we have another child.  I got the largest package.  Keep your eye out because they offer specials on certain holidays.  We got something like $75 off, becuase they were running a Valentines Day special!!

One thing to note, they are run by a Jewish family so they are closed on Saturdays and open on Sundays.

  • We did Peep II, and added on the live streaming, so my ILs (who couldn't join us for the session) were able to see it, too.  My parents, brother, best friend and her husband joined us for it, so we had 5 people other than DH and me in the room and it was fine.  You'll see in my review post that they also went WAY over the time set forth in the package description (we were back there almost an hour b/c LO was being stubborn and wouldn't show his face).  She also gave us way more than 20 images on the CD... she just copied everything she got, which was upwards of 30.

All in all, I highly recommend them.  We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was a great time - very relaxed and only a few people in the office.

  • Ditto PP's - we also used Little Bo Peep and had a great experience.  We got the largest package, which was great because it included a gender u/s at around 16 weeks.  Couldn't recommend them more!

  • Before you have an elective u/s I would look into some of the research on it as a lot of organizations, including a radiologist one, don't recommend it.  (One of the reasons being is that they aren't regulated).
