  • Well, if you turn off the caps lock, at least your writing will look smaller.
  • I would suggest changing your screen name to something other than your personal name. When you're typing online it is best to use small letters. Caps is used for yelling.

My best advice for losing baby weight is to eat less calories in than you burn. Watch what you eat - write everything down and count your calories. Work out with a mix of weights and cardio. Good luck.

  • Why are we being mean to this person?

My guess is that you're posting from a phone.  My phone always posts in all caps.  You'll want to try to post from a computer if possible, just so that you can type in lowercase.  All caps when typing tends to mean you are yelling.  I'm sure you didn't realize that though.

I don't believe in fad diets or diets in general.  They aren't sustainable, in my opinion.  I think the best advice is calories in must be lower than calories out.  Meaning, you have to consume less than you expend.  Try to eat a balanced, healthy diet.  Don't beat yourself up when / if you have a "bad" day.  And make sure you exercise.  Choose a workout / sport / whatever that you enjoy and will continue to do.

    Good luck!

  • My advice would be to find a personal trainer you love who motivates you to eat healthy and go to the gym. Mine has been instrumental in helping me get off the last of the baby weight and I'm on my way to being smaller than I was pre-pregnancy - an awesome feeling!!

I'm following the Paleo diet - it's not a "fad" diet in the sense that this has become my lifestyle 95% of the time. You can google it and find more info, but basically you only eat foods that were available during the Paleolithic era - nuts, berries, lean meats, vegetables, and fruits. No sugars or sugar substitutes, no added salts. I do allow myself to have no-salt seasonings and 1 serving dressing on salad, which doesn't necessarily fall within the realms of Paleo. I'm incredibly strict with my diet. I've had to be to lose the last 10 or so pounds. If I cheat too often the weight just does not come off. In addition to completely changing my diet, I lift 3-4 days a week and run 3-4 days a week, taking at least one day off.

Just remember that you CAN do this! It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and some deprivation, but it is so worth it in the end. Good luck!

Agreed!  Sparkpeople.com can be really helpful in tracking calories and can also give you a pretty good estimate of how many calories you're burning when you do certain exercises.

  • Ditto what the other girls said about calories in and calories out.  I used Sparkpeople.com a few years ago and lost 30 pounds in about 4 or 5 months. I have been most successful at weight loss when I keep track of every single thing I eat and drink.  Sparkpeople will even make meal plans for you if you want.  Don't forget, drink tons of water.  Good luck!!

caps aside, phones still have things like punctuation, and the message itself is rather incoherent.

To the OP--you lose the baby weight by working it off, same way you lose any other weight. Join a gym. Go for a run pushing the stroller. Sign up for a race. Eat healthy.

    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • Eat less. Move more. Find a workout plan/schedule you can stick with and it enjoyable. Eat foods that are whole and nutritious. Stay away from junk food. Increase your water intake. Start slowly and don't expect 20 pounds to come off like magic. It took 9 months to put on the weight and can take as long to take it off.

And just to be obnoxious, let me tell you that reading posts written in all CAPS is annoying. Also you want to "lose" weight and hope your clothes will become "loose" (not "loose" weight.)

  • Poor girl is probably never going to post again.  This thred sounds more like something on a national board than our local board.  Of course, it's been a long time since I was a regular (over a year).  Perhaps things have changed over the past year.
