DS will be 6 soon. I will probably take him in for a check up, but I honestly wonder what they will check.
I also know there will no longer be any shots (he'll be so glad to hear that!).
I was just wondering at what age do you stop the yearly check ups? Do you ever? Even if you're healthy?
He has glasses, so we do see an eye dr reguarly and also an allergist once a year.
Re: Do you still take your school aged kiddo for yearly check-ups?
I took them every year up to age 6. Then the pediatrician said that if they are healthy they can come every other year.
I think our pediatrician said they get one shot when they are 11 -12 years old. So your son may have one more in his future. I think it's the meningococcal conjugate vaccine.
Yes, I treat his health like I would mine. Know what I mean? I want to make sure if anything is going on it's potentially caught.
Also, I believe they get more shots around 12 or 13??

Why would you ever stop the yearly check up? It's a great time to ask questions and the overall purpose is to establish a medical history and check the basics so if something is ever "off" they'll know. I think it's just good common sense. DH and I do a yearly physical as well. I hope you do, too.
