NBR: Dealing with International Mail?

So I ordered a wall decal for the nursery on 12/29, and it shipped from Shanghai, China on 12/30.

Three weeks later, I'm still waiting. The seller gave me the USPS tracking number, and it was last updated on Jan. 11 as leaving Customs in Jamaica, NY.

Have you ever ordered anything from an international destination before? Is this normal? I want my freakin' wall decal so we can finish the nursery!

    I've ordered from Canada and it certainly was delayed (sometimes it can be for a while). I can imagine it would be even more so for a really international destination but have no experience.

    I ordered a hat from an Etsy seller located in Thailand and it took forever to arrive!  I don't know if that is typical or not but it was aggravating!

    it can take a while especially from China due to all the counterfeit activity.  It also depends on the person that ships it and how well they know about packing for US customs.  Since you just have decals you should be fine, but to be realistic, I'd give it another 10 days/2 weeks.  Sorry I know that's not what you wanted to hear.  But if you expect to wait 2 more weeks then when it comes early...you will be happy.

    I don't know too much about international mail, but I bet that jesiraeburn could maybe offer some insight. She's superclose with her mailman, from what I understand.

    She's "momranda" now. New AE, same level of BS.

     Haha, yeah, I made sure to 'out' her on the Single Parents board too. Funny that we haven't seen much of her in the last 24 hours......
