2nd Trimester

Mattress ?

I'm sorry I know this was just asked a couple days ago but the search function isn't working.  Baby Bargains rates the Colgate mattress the best buy.  We were at an independent baby store yesterday and they had hte Colgate Classica 1 for $89 on clearance.  Of course the sales lady tried selling me the expensive coil mattresses saying that foam won't last more than 1 child. I just want to know what others are doing.  I'll be honest there are days I wish there was only 1 option.  I hate having so many choices and so many mixed reviews

Re: Mattress ?

  • I'm actually getting the Nature Rest mattress that they recommend that I believe is made by Sealy.  I think the lady at the baby store is just trying to up sell, which is her job.  If the classica is what you want, get it.  They actually talk about sales people trying to up sell like this in tha chapter in Baby Bargains.

  • Coils are actually what break a mattress down. It's the constant rubbing of the inner padding by the coils that causes sagging and deterioration.
  • I honestly would not stress about your mattress too much.  As long as it is firm you are good to go.
  • I got one of the colgate coil mattresses (the 2 in 1 I think). ?I wasn't going to go with the 2:1 option, but it was on major clearance, so I couldn't pass it up. ?I think that foam is also just fine. ?I think the main thing is that the mattress is firm for baby. ?Good luck! ?I know lots of people have the classica and are happy with it.

The Colgate Classica III is the 2-sided one, and it's foam. Do they have another 2-sided one?
