Did you have any negative effects from it? Thin lining, reduced CM, cysts, etc?
Right now I am doing unmedicated IUIs because I'm ovulating on my own and everything has been normal. But I don't think I can do another cycle without changing things up, just for my own sanity. When I spoke to my RE about taking clomid next cycle, it seemed like he wanted me to do one more unmedicated cycle. He basically said that Clomid isn't the be all end all and that it can cause more problems than it solves sometimes. I obviously don't want that, but I really would like to produce more than one follicle to give us a better chance.
Anyway, what have your experiences been? And WWYD? I think I want to push for a low dose of Clomid this cycle. I mean, I've given it a try for 2 cycles unmedicated and it hasn't worked. I'm ready to move on I think.
Re: Clomid girls- question and WWYD?
I had two cycles with 50 mg (I think this is the lowest dose given out). The first one had one follie and the second one had two - but the second cycle also had the thin lining. So in the end neither of them worked. I also had greatly reduced CM - I am doing an unmediated cycle this month and I can't believe how much CM I have compared to last month.
I don't know what you should do - but I know it totally sucks - I hate how long it takes by the time you take the meds and then find out what worked/didn't, then move on to the next cycle...ugh.... I just want something to work! GL - I know how you feel!

I had no problems with Clomid. I too ovulate just fine, but after 18 cycles of ovulating just fine (and the fact that I'm 35) we wanted to be more aggressive. My understanding of the logic of using Clomid when you ovulate on your own, but still have TTTC is that it gives you more chances with each cycle. With two follies, you have more likelihood that a sperm is going to find an egg. It's like getting two months of trying in one.
I had 2-3 mature follies on CD12, with a whole bunch of smaller ones, so we triggered on CD12 (my RE was concerned that if we waited, the smaller ones might mature and then we'd have too many). My lining was on the thin side on CD12 (6), but by the IUI the next day it was a lovely 8.8. I did have reduced CM, but we just used preseed. I had no headaches, no hot flashes. I did have a heck of a time concentrating on anything that week and just felt on edge, which may have been due to the Clomid. We'll see if that happens with round #2.

100mg made my lining very thin but 50mg didn't show a difference ( from normal). Regardless of the dose, I always had hot flases & Day 1 of taking them I because a huge b!tch.

50 mg of Clomid - I only had one mature follicle
100mg of Clomid - I had 2 mature follicles
I ovulate on my own too but my RE wanted to give me a better chance and confirm I was ovulating mature follicles. The only side effect I had was that my skin broke out bad from all the medications. Other than that my lining was fine, I did get 2 cysts though from the 100 mg.
I agree with Papps , also ask about Femara. Usually the RE will do either clomid or Femara first. You do not need to do one before the other. If it was me I would try something different, since the 1st 2 unmedicated cycles were unsuccessful. ((hugs))
I hate Clomid. I had super thin lining on it. And I had major night sweats and bad headaches. And extremely tired. I got 2 follies on it and yes I got a bfp but it ended in a chemical.
Definitely ask about Femara. See my blog for a description of how it went for me. There is a VERY well respected RE in my area that refuses to use Clomid bc of the s/e (thin lining and cysts), and as a matter of course he uses Femara instead. I've had a nicer response to Femara than Clomid - 2 follies and nice lining.
Good luck!

I had these same symptoms, a general malaise, headaches and night sweats (hot flashes).
I got 2 follies and they didn't mention any cysts on the ultrasound, and my lining was fine.
