  TTC since November 08 IUI #1-BFN March 1, 2012 Saving Break will try IUI #2 in August 1/2012-S/A wash-count low 3 million 12/30/11 Luminarium(seaweed) stuck in cervix was suppose to "naturally" open it. Surgery for retrival. 12/7/11 Met with Dr. Dougherty new RE-more testing 2/11 Decided to take a year off to save for a new RE 1/11 Cycle day 4 a/s 15mm cyst left Ovary 1 follicle left over no meds this month. 12/10 Cycle Clomid-O'd Progestrone Dostinex =BFN 11/10 HSG-ALL CLEAR & S/A-Adequate 10/10 Cycle- Progestrone and Clomid-O'd=bfn 11/09 lap-removed a lot of scar tissue/endo =not so much cramps during AF 2006 Appendectomy-cyst burst on right ovary =scar tissue 2005 abnormal cells-biopsy and cells removed=scar tissue

  I've only went through one, but I will tell you what happened with mine.  I went on Clomid cycle day 5-9.  I took 50 mg of it.  On Cd 13 I came in for an ultrasound to check follicles.  I had one measurable one on my left side (I can only do an IUI if my eggs are on the left side due to not having a right tube).  On CD 18, I went back and had another check and the follicle was at 23 mm.  I did a trigger shot that night and then I did the IUI on CD 20 in the morning.  All in all, it lasted about an hour and a half, but the majority of time was spent sorting my husband's sample.  The actual IUI part didn't take more than 15 minutes.

  Re sent me home with a list of costs...feeling ok about it should be under $800 so that's good. The actual procedure is what I am feeling most nervous about. Also like I said "in the dark" because I'm learning new things every time I talk with a Dr. and on the boards. i.e. your tubes aren't actually connected to your ovaries...is there a IF for dummies book?

  Yes there actually is a "fertility for dummies" and "Infertility for dummies" book out there..I got 'em both at Amazon.com for cheap
