Do you ever get your stomach back...?

Hi Ladies,

Can any of you ladies share how you got your post baby body back? I was looking for exercise routines that you may feel have helped you in toning your post baby belly.

As much as I do I still feel like there is that pregnancy bump that is not going away. I eat very healthy and exercise regularly. As much as the rest of my body is back to pre-baby, my stomach seems not to be.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Re: Do you ever get your stomach back...?

  • Even in my best shape since getting pg the first time, my stomach still wasn't exactly the same.  What helped me get as close as possible was just my regular running, and core stuff like the roman chair, planks, and ab work on the ball especially focusing on my lower abs.

  • I would suggest Restore the Core.  You can get the DVD or you might be able to actually find the class near you.  You can search on strollerfit.com
  • Clean eating & CrossFit
  • Yes.

I think genetics probably play a part, but going back to my regular routine, cardio, weights, teaching classes, etc. has made me look great. . . I don't know if I'm exactly the same as I was before, but I'm also a lot older than I was before my first child :)

I think there are specific exercises you can do if you have an especially big diastasis.

  • Running and pilates... I actually had a better stomach after I had my baby....
  • YES I did. it took me a year, but I didnt really excercise at all. Just ate healthly, took walks, and went back to work. Weight gain and loss has not really been a problem for me. Got my belly button back too! :D

  • Almost. I took me about a year to get my stomach not to have the pooch thing. Core exercises really help me, like yoga and pilates. I also had to lose 5-10 pounds more than what my pp weight was to look the same.
  • I had it back about 2 months PP. I run daily for a total of 60 miles per week and do ab work daily.
