I've been looking through the baby category to see if I can score any good deals. There are some, granted, but I've noticed that a lot of people are charging the same amounts for things, (both new and used), as the regular stores like Walmart! The actual price might be lower, but add what they charge for shipping and it's no less expensive than just going out and buying new...in some cases it is even more expensive! Are these sellers not doing price checks before creating these listings?
Re: Isn't Ebay supposed to be a bargain?
I don't think ebay is supposed to be cheaper than retail necessarily, it's just an outlet for anyone with a computer to sell something. You will find rare collectibles on ebay for way more than they were ever worth retail (i.e. baseball cards, etc).
When going to any site like ebay or craig's list, buyer beware, shop around or get taken.
I bet those folks that list higher make lots of money off people that just "assume" ebay is cheaper
Yeah. Ebay isn't always cheapest.
Best way to find the best price....
Go to Goggle, type in the specific item you are looking for, and then click on shopping. You will see a list of prices at different stores and can find the best price!
Albeebaby.com generally has great prices.

I never EVER buy anything online without doing this first! LoL, You should see the Excel spreadsheet I have going with my list of everything I need to buy for baby and who's got the best price! That's why I mentioned Walmart in my post...they came up more than most stores as having better prices than the Ebay listings I was looking at.
Buyer beware and do your own research.
This reminds me of the poster on another board whose husband purchased a toy for their child's Christmas present on Amazon Marketplace and was so upset that they were charged more than if they just went to Toys 'R Us. Of course they did not research prices but just assumed it was the best deal because it was Amazon. LOL.
I second that. However it's so sad when I type in the name of the store and get "User Submissions Blocked"....some stores don't do online promos, which sucks. If all else fails, subscribe to the mailing list and cross your fingers!
Another great trick someone on here told me was to make a registry for whatever you want, make the date relatively soon, and use the completion discount! Definitely doing that in case I can't get a better coupon elsewhere!
I remember the Ebay scam when the xbox 360's first came out. People would list the empty box for the price of an xbox and idiots would BUY it without reading the fine print that they were buying the cardboard box only, no game system.
