Our son LOVES light switches right now. We can't walk by one without him wanting to turn it off and on and see the light come on. It's pretty funny, actually. He also loves the remote control for our bedroom's ceiling fan/light, and knows which button to push to turn the fan or light on and off.
What is your toddler obsessed with these days?
Re: What is your toddler's current obsession?
Totally agree--light switches
Also cars--anytime there's a car anywhere (outside, in one of his books, on tv, etc), he points and yells "AR!" Kinda like a pirate, but cuter IMO.
Oh and turning the TV on and off. Does it all.the.time.
A match box car she got this summer. She wanted to take it to bed last night. She also is totally obsessed with brushing her teeth. If we leave the bathroom door unlocked she runs in and climbs up on the stool and starts brushing her teeth. She is magnetically attracted to the bathroom sink and her tooth brush.
Socks. She wants to take them off, and then put them on.. but she hasn't figured otu how to put them on yet.. so mommy has to be part of the crazy obsession.. on off on off.. or in her language "aut, aut" for off.
We got him a baby doll this weekend (early prep for baby bro/sis on the way). He loves it, wants to put hats on it and give it his binky. Very cute.
Elbows - He says, "Elbow!" and then wants to touch your elbow and vice versa.
"Dip", anything that appears to be a sauce or condiment is dip and he wants it on whatever he's eating. He also has started dipping his crayons in things, like Mommy's water glass.
big brothers 12.2009 and 02.2012
Doors/Door knobs - she loves opening and closing doors. She can barely reach the knobs but it does not keep her from trying.
Books - she loves flipping through the pages and looking at the pictures.
The rotating Miller Lite pub sign in our finished basement. He has to have it on when we go down there to play, and he takes breaks to stare at it and point to it.
The ipad commercial...he stops whatever he is doing to watch it as soon as he hears the music.
Taking his socks out of his sock drawer and putting them back.
His blanket. He started carrying it with him everywhere a few weeks ago.
Looking at himself in the mirror. He likes to kiss his reflection too.
Toddlers are so funny....its like they all have OCD!
Cell phones. I cannot pick up my cell phone and use it without DD having a meltdown. Actually that's ANY cell phone. She will see others' phones and meltdown too if she can't have it.
ETA: I just realized she's holding it in my siggy! LOL
BOOKS!! has been since 6 months old but it has gotten really obsessed recently. She has one book she carries everywhere. I am lucky if I go 20 min without reading it if we are downstairs. It is all day in her hands asking me to read this one book.
Also pulling all of her books out of the bookshelf and arranging them on the floor.
