DD was given a scentsy buddy for a late birthday/christmas present last night. At first I thought, ugh another stuffed animal, but she loves her monkey and it smells SOOOO good!
I did notice that it says ages 3+ on it though. She can't unzip the back of the monkey to get the scented pack out, and we don't give her stuffed animals in the crib, so do you think she's fine playing with it?
Re: Scentsy Buddy
I almost got DD one of those but opted for a large warmer for her room instead. Mostly b/c I wasn't 100% sure it'd be safe for DD's current age and b/c the buddy wouldn't make the whole room smell like a warmer would
Unzip it and look at what is used to make the smell. If it's like scent beads or something that she could put in her mouth then I'd put it on a shelf until she's more age appropriate. But if it's something too big to fit in her mouth or be bitten into smaller peices then I'd say it's fine. Also check if the scent peices are non-toxic. That could answer your question right away.
Another thing I worried about is b/c I have asthma and reactive airways I wondered if snuggling so close to something so strongly scented that it could possibly bother her airways. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep with a scented stuffed animal by my airways so I made the assumption that she shouldn't either. So those are the things I took into consideration. But I might get her one several years from now.
And I have to add that i thought the monkey one was SUPER cute.
